A Rainy Day, a Perfect Proposal | Hocking Hills
After a long search, Abdullah reached out to us with a very special request — he wanted to propose to his girlfriend in the beautiful surroundings of Hocking Hills.
We spent quite some time choosing the perfect location, and eventually decided on Ash Cave Falls. For a moment this special, we wanted to create more than just beautiful photographs. We wanted to tell a real story, with every detail carefully planned.
We created a detailed plan in advance. We agreed that we would all wear white T-shirts so Abdullah could easily recognize us, and we prepared a map showing exactly where everyone needed to be and how we would work together.

This was especially important because there is very limited cell service in parts of Hocking Hills. So everyone needed to know exactly where to be and what to do on the day of the shoot.
And then, the big day finally arrived.
We checked in with Abdullah one more time, made sure everything was going according to plan, and headed to the location
But Hocking Hills greeted us with rain.
For a moment, we started to worry. We were in the mountains, the weather could have completely changed our plans, and at that point, there was very little we could do to adjust everything at the last minute. But then something truly magical happened.
The rain stopped at exactly the time we had planned with Abdullah. The clouds began to clear, the sun came out, and we arrived at the location at exactly the right moment. And then came the magic.Abdullah got down on one knee and proposed.
We had planned the photography from two different angles. One photographer was shooting from below, while the second photographer was positioned higher up on the mountain.

This allowed us to capture both the couple’s emotions and the incredible beauty of the surrounding landscape. The sun was shining through the clouds. After the rain, the waterfall was full of water and flowing beautifully down the rocks.
There were quite a few people around us, but despite that, we managed to execute everything exactly as we had planned.
The result was truly incredible: Abdullah down on one knee, his girlfriend beside him, sunlight shining through the clouds, the waterfall in the background, and the breathtaking nature of Hocking Hills all around them.

We didn’t just capture a beautiful photograph. We became part of one of the most important moments in this couple’s life. And I think that’s exactly why we love what we do so much.

You can plan every detail in advance, but sometimes, at the most important moment, nature adds a little bit of its own magic. That day, the rain didn’t ruin the proposal.

Instead, it made the waterfall even more beautiful, and the sunlight that appeared at exactly the right moment made this story truly unforgettable.
