Pre-Wedding Photoshoot Checklist: What to Wear & How to Prepare

Your pre-wedding photoshoot is more than just a chance to take beautiful pictures. It is an opportunity to create images that feel personal, elegant, and completely unique to the two of you.

For couples who book our 8–10 hour wedding photography package, we include a complimentary pre-wedding photoshoot. After your package is booked and your wedding date is confirmed, we work together to plan the concept, location, outfits, and overall mood of your session.

The goal is simple: create beautiful photographs that look and feel like you.

1. Choose Your Outfits Carefully

What you wear is one of the most important parts of creating a beautiful pre-wedding session.

We recommend choosing outfits that look elegant, timeless, and coordinated rather than overly casual or sporty.

For Her

A dress is always a beautiful choice for a pre-wedding photoshoot. Long or flowing dresses can create movement and add an elegant feeling to the photographs.

Good choices include:

• Elegant dresses
• Long or midi dresses
• Classic skirts and blouses
• Neutral or soft colors
• Simple, timeless styles
• Clothing that makes you feel confident and comfortable

Try to avoid extremely bright colors, large logos, distracting patterns, or clothing that feels too sporty.

For Him

For men, a classic and polished look usually photographs beautifully.

Consider:

• A suit
• Dress pants with a button-down shirt
• A blazer with trousers
• Classic shoes
• Neutral or complementary colors

You don’t necessarily need to wear a full suit. The most important thing is that your outfit feels clean, classic, and appropriate for the concept we create together.

2. Coordinate — Don’t Match

Your outfits don’t need to be identical.

Instead of wearing the exact same color, choose colors and textures that complement each other.

For example, if she wears a soft neutral dress, he might wear a classic navy, gray, beige, or brown outfit.
