How to Choose the Perfect Proposal Location in Columbus, Ohio
Not sure where to propose? We can help you find the place that feels right for your story.
Choosing a proposal location can feel overwhelming — especially if you don’t know Columbus or the surrounding areas well.Maybe you want a romantic garden.
Maybe you prefer nature and privacy.
Maybe you want beautiful city views.
Or maybe you already have a location in mind but aren’t sure if it’s the right choice. We’ve photographed proposals throughout Columbus and Central Ohio, and we know that the best location isn’t always the most famous one.It should feel right for you two.

Step 01
Tell Us About Your Proposal
Before choosing a location, tell us a little about your relationship and what you have in mind.Do you want something romantic and elegant?
Quiet and private?
Natural and adventurous?
Or somewhere connected to your story? The more we know about you, the easier it is to find a location that feels personal rather than simply beautiful.
Step 02
Choose Your Atmosphere
Different locations create completely different feelings.
Romantic & Garden
Columbus Park of Roses
Inniswood Metro Gardens
Franklin Park Conservatory
Perfect if you imagine flowers, greenery, beautiful paths, and a romantic atmosphere.
Nature & Privacy
Alum Creek Below Dam Recreation Area
Hoover Dam Nature Trail
Hocking Hills
A great choice if you want something relaxed, natural, and away from the feeling of a traditional city proposal.
City & Modern
Bridge Park in Dublin
East Bank Park
Ohio Statehouse
Perfect for couples who love architecture, city views, or a more elegant urban atmosphere.

Step 03
Think About the Moment, Not Just the Location
A beautiful location is only part of the proposal.
We also think about:
Privacy — Will you have enough space for the moment to feel intimate?
Timing — When will the light be best?
Crowds — Is there a quieter time to visit?
Weather — What happens if Ohio weather changes?
Photography — Where can we stand without being noticed?
After the Yes — Where can we take beautiful engagement portraits afterward?
The goal is to make everything feel natural, not staged.
Step 04
We Plan the Details Together
Once you’ve chosen a location, we help you think through the actual proposal.
Where should you walk?
Where should you stop?
Where will we be hiding?
When should you get down on one knee?
We can also help you think through music, flowers, decorations, or another personal detail that makes the proposal yours.
You don’t have to figure everything out alone.

Step 05
The Proposal
On the day of your proposal, we’ll arrive early and make sure everything is ready.
You focus on one thing:
asking the question.
We’ll focus on staying discreet, watching the moment, and being ready for the exact second you get down on one knee.
Nothing needs to feel staged.
The surprise, the reaction, the tears, the laughter — that’s the story we’re there to capture.
Step 06
After the “Yes”
The proposal is only the beginning.Once the question has been answered, we can take relaxed engagement portraits while the excitement is still fresh. No complicated posing.Just the two of you celebrating the beginning of something new.

Proposal Location FAQ
What is the most romantic place to propose in Columbus?
There isn’t one perfect location for every couple. Columbus Park of Roses, Inniswood Metro Gardens, Franklin Park Conservatory, and other locations each create a different atmosphere.
Can you help me choose a proposal location?
Yes. If you’re unsure where to propose, tell us what kind of atmosphere you’re looking for and we’ll help you narrow down the options.
What if I don’t live in Columbus?
That’s not a problem. We work with couples visiting Columbus and with people who aren’t familiar with the area.
What if it rains?
Ohio weather can change quickly, so we consider the forecast and your location when planning the proposal. Depending on the location, we can discuss an alternative plan.
Can I have a proposal with decorations?
It depends on the location. Some parks and venues have specific rules about decorations and setup. For example, Franklin Park Conservatory has restrictions on props and décor, so those details need to be checked before planning.
Can we take engagement photos after the proposal?
Absolutely. We recommend it. The moments immediately after the proposal are often some of the most genuine and emotional photographs of the day.
How far in advance should I plan my proposal?
The earlier you plan, the more options you’ll have for your preferred location, date, and time. But if you’re planning something last-minute, it’s still worth reaching out.
